Luis Diaz Breaks Silence on Liverpool Future Amid Barcelona and Bayern Links

Luis Diaz has provided an update regarding his future at Liverpool amidst ongoing speculation about a potential summer departure from Anfield.

The 28-year-old saw significant success last season, establishing himself as an integral player in Arne Slot’s squad by either operating on the wing or in a makeshift center-forward role, contributing 13 goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances, which helped secure the title for the Reds.

Despite having two years left on his contract, Diaz has been linked with a lucrative move away from Liverpool, with reports indicating that the club has already turned down a formal approach from Bayern Munich.

Additionally, Luis Diaz has garnered interest from Barcelona and teams in the Saudi Pro League, but Liverpool remains steadfast in their intention to retain the talented forward this summer.

During the recent international break, Luis Diaz admitted that he and his agents have been in discussions with other clubs, hinting that negotiations for a new contract at Anfield may have stalled.

“We are currently in contact with Liverpool because we are talking to clubs, and that’s normal given the transfer market that’s opening,” the Colombian forward stated to reporters. “We’re trying to arrange what’s best for us.

“We’re talking to clubs, it’s normal in the market and we’re looking at what’s best for us. I’m waiting to see what happens. I’m very happy at Liverpool; I’ve always said so.

“They’ve welcomed me very well from day one. If they offer us a good renewal or I stay here for two years, I’ll be happy. Now it’s up to them.”

Luis Diaz has since clarified that negotiations about his future are ongoing. Although he expresses contentment at Liverpool, he refrains from confirming or denying his intentions regarding a possible move from Anfield this summer.

In a conversation with Colombian influencer Mauricio Gomez, Luis Diaz remarked: “We’re there, negotiating. We’ll see what can be achieved, for us and for the club. We’ll try to do our best and make the best decision.”

When asked about connections to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, he added: “We’re in the process of negotiations, talking with the club, with Liverpool, with everyone who’s approaching us, but I’m very calm where I am, you know, very happy.
