Tyrique George Set for Summer Move Following Positive Negotiations

Chelsea youngster Tyrique George has also had “positive discussions” with Roma ahead of an increasingly likely transfer to the Italian capital before the transfer deadline.

Blues have again been transfer window pacesetters this summer, working ceaselessly on incomings as well as outgoings since the window opened. Introduction of several new forwards has been exciting news for Chelsea supporters but has stalled the development path for Cobham Academy graduate Tyrique George.

It has been reported that the 19-year-old winger Tyrique George, who impressed for Chelsea during their Europa Conference League campaign last season, has seen new signings Jamie Gittens and Estêvão leapfrog him on the pecking order, and the Blues now appear happy for him to depart the club on a permanent basis.

Roma have been conducting negotiations with George’s representatives in London on Tuesday according to Fabrizio Romano, with the striker authorized to transfer with the Serie A side on a full-time—although with a “heavy sell-on clause” put in place for Chelsea.

BBC Sport have also revealed that £25 million ($33.7 million) would likely do for Roma to sign his services, but if the Italians are convinced of paying that sort of cash for him, only time will tell.

Tyrique George made 26 appearances for Chelsea last season as he made his way into the first team, scoring three times and assisting five times as he impressed everyone.

Roma had also been interested in signing former Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United but the two clubs never managed to arrive at an agreement on personal terms.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are also said to covet Liverpool centre-back Kostas Tsimikas as they have made loan transfers of Leon Bailey and Evan Ferguson from the Premier League during the summer.

BBC Sport have also revealed that £25 million ($33.7 million) would likely be enough for Roma to secure his services, although whether the Italians are willing to spend that much on him remains to be seen.
