Nicolas Jackson Transfer Back On as Bayern Reopen Chelsea Talks

Bayern Munich deal of Nicolas Jackson was completed when the Bundesliga side terminated the short-term deal that was agreed and then stopped by Chelsea, but it seems now we are expecting a new deal agreed upon now within the final hours of the window.

The Telegraph and others are reporting that negotiations over a loan with obligation are not only underway but “going well’ and with “optimism [that] a deal can be agreed”. We have no word yet of what the finances would entail but the previous loan deal is a €15m fee and an €80m option. It is very unlikely that we’d see the latter sum of money in any sort of obligation but we shall have to wait and see.

Thankfully, it would appear Nicolas Jackson had remained in Munich the whole weekend anyway, so if a deal is within grasp, it should be feasible for him to sort it out.

“Nico was fully prepared. Bayern were on board. We’d all mapped out a fantastic project together. That’s why it’s so frustrating—it collapsed right at the finish line.” But we won’t give up.”

“I will do everything possible to ensure that Nico’s next move is a reflection of what he can offer technically, what he wants and the agreement that we put together. Hopefully Chelsea can accommodate Liam Delap’s misfortune.”

The Bundesliga window closes at the same moment as the Premier League window (8pm CEST; 7pm BST), so four and a half hours remain.

🚨 Ali Barat, agent of Nicolas Jackson: “Nico was ready. Bayern was ready. We were all on the same page about a world-class project. That at the very end the agreement is rescinded is very disappointing. But we won’t give up.”

“I’ll do everything within my ability so Nico’s next…”
