David Adeleye Demands ‘Shootout’ with Dubois After Hrgovic War

David Adeleye will look to be thrown back in at the deep end after the second loss of his professional career.

This month, the former British heavyweight champion of the world lost a unanimous one-sided decision in a step-up fight on the Moses Itauma vs Dillian Whyte undercard.

Adeleye emerged as a huge underdog against the No.6-ranked heavyweight.

But he exceeded expectations by rocking and cutting Hrgovic at the barnburning battle.

This game has instilled in Adeleye a newfound confidence that he can compete with the best of the division.

And the 28-year-old looks to keep the momentum going with win against Daniel Dubois on the heels of his countryman’s annihilatory stoppage loss last July at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk.

“If Daniel Dubois fights again this year, let’s make that a reality,” he said on talkSPORT.com.

“We have gone at it many times before. You guys are gonna get your money’s worth if we do fight.”

Dubois will be back in the ring later this year, while Adeleye will aim to get out as quickly as he can from his fight with Hrgovic largely unscathed.

In principle, their return dates could coincide with Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn’s November 15 rematch.

His undercard has not been announced yet, but Adeleye admits he would leap at the opportunity of fighting Dubois on the card, or indeed any other foe, as the situation calls for.

It perfectly aligns with my present professional objectives. ” Adeleye retorted.

“I won’t have to commute because I’m from London.” “I’m one of those competitors who like to stay active, so at the end of the day, I want to leave as soon as possible.”

“Now that August has arrived, I’m hoping to return to the outdoors in October, November, or December.”

“It would be ideal if I went out twice this year. You are going to see a different version of myself.”

“I do not want to step down; I want to compete at the same sort of level.”

“If I write down my mistakes, there will not be any answers from people in the division.”

“Now that people have seen the level that I’m on, people will realize the type of fighter that I am.”
