Their victory over Angers with a score of 1-0, thanks to a second-half goal from Desire Doue, ensures that no other team, including second-place Monaco, can catch them, as they sit a remarkable 24 points ahead with just seven matches remaining.

Under the guidance of Luis Enrique, PSG is having an impressive campaign, remaining unbeaten in the league while also vying for titles in both the UEFA Champions League and the Coupe de France. This victory marks PSG’s record-extending 13th Ligue 1 title and their fourth consecutive win in the league.

Ousmane Dembele has been a standout performer, topping the scoring charts with 21 goals, while Bradley Barcola has been instrumental in creating chances, contributing 10 assists. This early title win is only the third time in history it has happened, with PSG themselves having done it with eight games left back in the 2015/16 season, and Lyon achieving it with six games to spare in 2006/07.

Looking to add more to their history, PSG is currently on a remarkable unbeaten run of 28 Ligue 1 matches (23 wins and 5 draws), just four games shy of the record of 32 set by Nantes in the 1994/95 season. Should they finish the season unbeaten, they would become the first French team to achieve this feat, joining an elite group of clubs from Europe’s top leagues that have accomplished the same.

Luis Enrique, who led the team to a domestic treble in his first season, is eyeing another successful conclusion to the campaign. They will face Reims in the Coupe de France final on May 24. But before that, PSG’s attention turns to the UEFA Champions League, where they are set to compete against Aston Villa in the quarter-finals. The first leg will be held in Paris on April 9, followed by the return match at Villa Park on April 15.

Despite their domestic success, PSG is still chasing its first Champions League title, having reached the semi-finals last season and finishing as runners-up in the 2019/20 season. Their only major European trophy remains the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, which they won back in 1995/96, and could be a remarkable campaign, as they remain unbeaten in the league and contention for UEFA Champions League and Coupe de France silverware.

Ousmane Dembele has starred for the Parisians, leading the scoring charts with 21 league goals, while Bradley Barcola has proved their greatest creator with 10 assists.

That PSG side of 2016 is the only French team to have wrapped up the title earlier in the year, having done so by mid-March.
And Enrique’s side still has some history to chase before the end of the season, as they are currently unbeaten in 28 Ligue 1 games (W23 D5), putting them just four games shy of Nantes’ record of 32 games unbeaten from the start of a season in 1994/95.
Should PSG go the rest of the season unbeaten, they would be the first French side to achieve the feat and join Bayer Leverkusen (2024), Juventus (2012), Arsenal (2004), AC Milan (1992), Perugia (1979) and Preston North End (1889) as the only teams from Europe’s five major leagues to do so.
Enrique led his side to a domestic treble in his debut season last term, winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions.

The Spaniard will repeat the feat if PSG can beat Reims in the Coupe de France final on May 24.
However, their focus will now be on a UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa, live on TNT Sports and Discovery
PSG welcome the Birmingham club to Paris on Wednesday, April 9, for the first leg before the return at Villa Park on Tuesday, April 15.

The Parisian club’s only piece of major European silverware remains the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1995/96.
