Gary Neville’s Harsh Assessment as He Reveals Combined Man Utd and Spurs XI

Manchester United has been under heavy fire from Gary Neville, who claims that only one of their players merits a spot in a starting lineup with Tottenham Hotspur. This statement is made as both teams prepare to play each other in the Europa League final later this month, a crucial game that gives both teams the opportunity to win a trophy and guarantee a coveted position in the Champions League the following season.
Both teams have endured disappointing seasons, with Manchester United languishing at 16th in the Premier League table, accumulating a mere ten wins and 39 points over the course of the season. In a similarly distressing position, Tottenham sits just below them in 17th place, suffering from an abysmal 20 league losses.

Frankly, the only player from United who would make it into Spurs’ starting XI would be Bruno Fernandes,” Neville said during an appearance on “The Overlap.”
He further elaborated on his assessment of the goalkeeping situation, indicating a 50-50 split between Spurs’ Guglielmo Vicario and United’s Andre Onana, although he admitted a lack of confidence in both. “Ultimately,” he continued, “if I had to choose, I would favor every single Tottenham player over those in Manchester United’s lineup going into that match.”

Despite his reservations, Neville acknowledged that players like Casemiro and Fernandes possess the experience and quality that could shine in a crucial one-off match, giving him a sliver of optimism. However, he stressed that if the players perform as expected, Tottenham appears to have the upper hand.

Spurs will play Aston Villa, while United will play Chelsea as both teams get ready for their Premier League games leading up to the Europa League final. Additionally, celebrations can vary greatly based on the final’s outcome. Spurs intend to celebrate winning their first trophy since 2008 with a lavish parade if they win. Given the stark disparity in the teams’ current circumstances, United’s celebration is expected to be more muted, with a barbecue for players, staff, and their families scheduled at their Carrington training facility.
