Negotiations Falter: Fury Criticized for Declining Jake Paul Rematch Proposal

Tommy Fury has been accused of turning down “multiple offers” to go head-to-head with rival Jake Paul for a second time and is at risk of completely losing the fight altogether.

The two stars fought back in 2023, with Fury going on to win on points despite being knocked down in the final round. Since then, the pair have traded barbs online amid talks of a potential rematch.

However, as of yet, nothing has materialised. Last week, TNT took to Instagram, hitting out at ‘The Problem Child’ after the American expressed interest in a bout with two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua.
After launching a scathing attack on Paul, the pair Tommy Fury is facing criticism for reportedly turning down several offers to face Jake Paul again, putting the chance of a rematch in jeopardy. The two fighters previously met in 2023, where Fury won by decision despite being knocked down in the final round. Since then, they’ve been trading insults online while discussions about a rematch simmer.

Recently, Fury took to Instagram to criticize Paul after he expressed interest in fighting two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Their online exchanges have become quite heated.

While there have been conversations about a sequel to their initial bout, reports suggest that Fury rejected a $6 million offer for a fight on Netflix last year. With Fury currently reluctant to negotiate further, he risks missing out on the rematch entirely.

In a recent interview with The Sun, Nakisa Bidarian, Paul’s promotional partner, commented, “Tommy was offered an unbelievable deal to headline against Jake on Netflix. His team seemed to have inflated expectations. Jake isn’t likely to offer that kind of money again. If Tommy Fury came back and said, ‘Jake, here’s $20 million to fight me,’ then good for him!” have exchanged verbal jabs online.

There have been talks of a sequel, but the Americans’ team claims Fury rejected a $6 million offer to make the fight happen on Netflix last year. With Fury unwilling, at the moment, to renegotiate, he could be at risk of missing out on the fight.
In an interview with The Sun, Paul’s promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian said: “Tommy was offered an unbelievable deal to headline versus Jake on Netflix, and they had a false sense of expectations. Jake’s not gonna ever offer him that kind of money again. Now, if Tommy Fury showed up and said, ‘Jake, here is $ 20 million to fight me and I’m gonna make $ 20 million.’ Right, all the power to you.

They have never made an offer, despite our multiple attempts to facilitate a rematch. If they truly believe they can beat Jake Paul, they should have eagerly accepted the chance to fight him for $6 million, plus additional earnings on Netflix. It’s ridiculous that they haven’t done so.
