Real Madrid Resume Training Ahead of El Clásico – Ceballos, Huijsen & Asensio Rejoin Squad

Real Madrid returned to the Valdebebas training ground on Friday with all eyes firmly set on Sunday’s highly anticipated El Clásico against Barcelona. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two giants — and perhaps the toughest test so far for Xabi Alonso’s side.

Friday’s session brought encouraging news for Madrid fans, as both Dani Ceballos and Dean Huijsen took part in full team training. The young Dutch defender has been gradually eased back into action following his recent injury, while Ceballos, who has been managing slight discomfort in his soleus muscle, joined the group wearing a light protective bandage. Although both players are still being monitored by the medical staff, they are expected to be available for selection this weekend, giving Alonso more options in midfield and defense.

Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold were also fully involved in training after sitting out the Juventus match for rest and recovery. Alonso will now have the depth he needs to rotate effectively and maintain the team’s physical intensity as the season begins to intensify.

Another piece of positive news came from Raul Asensio, who successfully completed the entire session after recovering from the hamstring issue that forced him off in the previous match. The young defender looked sharp, confident, and full of energy during drills — a clear sign that he’s ready to rejoin the squad for the trip to the Camp Nou.

However, not all updates were positive. Both David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger continued to train individually as they recover from their respective injuries. Alaba’s chances of featuring in El Clásico have been virtually ruled out, while Rüdiger is expected to remain sidelined for several more weeks. Their absence leaves Madrid slightly short of experience at the back, though Alonso will be encouraged by the performances of his younger defenders in recent weeks.

With confidence high and several key players returning, Real Madrid approach Sunday’s showdown in strong spirits. The clash with Barcelona promises to be another fierce chapter in one of football’s greatest rivalries — and an early test of Alonso’s growing influence at the helm.
