Red Sox have been on a roll lately, and a big part of that success can be attributed to Trevor Story. His contributions have been essential to the team’s performance, and it’s great to see him making such a positive impact. Just last week, the team ended up with an impressive 5-1 record, which included a thrilling three-game sweep against the Houston Astros at Fenway Park. Story stepped up, hitting safely in all five victories and consistently racking up multiple hits. He also crossed home plate at least once in every game, showing just how crucial he has been to the team’s recent performance.
From July 28 to August 3, Story had an impressive week, going 9-for-23 at the plate and batting a phenomenal .391/.462/.957, which included three home runs, four doubles, and eight RBIs. His performance earned him the AL Player of the Week award, marking the sixth such honor in his career and the first since he joined the Red Sox.
Meanwhile, Warming Bernabel took home the NL Player of the Week title, hitting 12-for-26 with seven extra-base hits and seven RBIs for the Colorado Rockies, Story’s former team.
Injuries have held Story back during his time in Boston, as he only managed to play 163 games from 2022 to 2024. However, this season has been a refreshing change for him. He’s been able to take the field in 110 out of the team’s 114 games, truly showcasing his skills and talent.
At 32 years old, Story is having a fantastic season, arguably his best since 2021. While there have been some challenges along the way, he’s currently putting up solid numbers with a batting average of .257, an on-base percentage of .301, and a slugging percentage of .430.
He’s also hit 18 home runs and impressively has a perfect record in stolen bases, going 19-for-19. It’s been exciting to see his resurgence, especially as the Red Sox have found their rhythm after a rough start. Since June 1, Story has been on fire, hitting .300/.344/.542 with 11 homers and 16 doubles over 54 games, playing a significant role in Boston’s impressive 35-19 record during that stretch. The Boston Red Sox have been on quite a run lately, and Trevor Story has been a major factor in their success. Trevor came through, getting hits in all five wins and often notching multiple hits per game. He also crossed home plate at least once in every game, proving just how important he’s been to the team’s recent surge.

Now in the fourth year of a six-year, $140 million contract, Story is rediscovering his form as a key player in the Red Sox lineup. His power, speed, veteran presence, and consistent defense have not only elevated his game but also energized the team as they push for a playoff spot. It’s great to see him back performing at such a high level!
