Ruben Amorim Reveals Candid Bond with Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Man Utd

According to Ruben Amorim, he and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the co-owner of Manchester United, have a “no-nonsense” relationship. Amorim disclosed that they have a frequent phone conversation and exchange messages, and they have bonded over their direct style of communication.

“We talk on the phone, and he sends me messages and GIFs,” Ruben Amorim said. “You call it GIFs? Like joking. So we have this kind of relationship.

“I think it’s really easy to deal with Jim. Easy in the sense that if you know your stuff, if you know how to explain any decision, you’ll be fine with him. If you try to use some nonsense in big words, he’ll call you out. So for me, it’s straightforward. I say what I need to say with respect, as I would with anyone.

“I recognize he’s the owner of the club, and I understand my role. But when I need to speak my mind, I do it directly, without any fluff. I believe that’s something he appreciates a lot.”

Amorim’s comments about Ratcliffe come alongside his bold assertion about the potential to bring Manchester United back to prominence. He expressed confidence that with Ratcliffe’s support, along with other key figures at the club, they can reclaim their status at the top of English football.

“I have no doubts about that because there are some qualities that you cannot buy, and this club has them: pedigree, history, and passionate fans. We possess all of that,” he stated.

“Then there’s the financial aspect. We have funds, even without Champions League revenue. Our finances are robust and will grow in the future. We’re actively working on strategies with Omar [Berrada, chief executive] and the team to ensure our financial strength continues.

“Ultimately, it’s about culture. If we change our culture while leveraging our heritage, financial resources, and other advantages, we can return to our rightful place – that’s clear.”

As Ruben Amorim gears up for the new season, Manchester United is set to face Everton in the USA, followed by a final pre-season matchup against Fiorentina before their season opener against Arsenal.
