Sesko In, Mount Out: Predicted Man Utd XI vs Brighton

A week after their statement victory over Liverpool at Anfield, Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday as they host Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford. The match, kicking off at 17:30 local time, will be part of matchday nine — and offers Rúben Amorim’s side another chance to build on their growing momentum.

United head into the fixture chasing a third straight league win, a result that could further boost their position in the standings depending on other results across the weekend. Confidence is high after back-to-back victories, and Amorim will be eager to see his side continue their steady resurgence.

Goalkeeper – Senne Lammens looks set to retain his spot between the posts after another solid display. The Belgian shot-stopper has conceded just once in the last two games and has shown composure and consistency that should keep Altay Bayindir on the bench for now.

Defence – Matthijs de Ligt impressed at Anfield with a commanding performance, while Harry Maguire capped his own excellent display with the dramatic winning goal. The pair are expected to continue at the heart of the defence, with Luke Shaw completing what should be an unchanged back line from last weekend’s triumph.

Midfield – Casemiro provided a scare when he was forced off injured against Liverpool, but the Brazilian has since been cleared and should return to partner Bruno Fernandes in the double pivot. Fernandes, who is set to make his 300th appearance for the club, will again shoulder creative duties from midfield.

Wing-backs It is expected that Diogo Dalot and Amad Diallo, who offer width and attacking support on the flanks, will continue to start.

Bryan Mbeumo, who scored last weekend, is likely to remain on the right, while Mason Mount might move after a quiet game at Anfield. Matheus Cunha, who would bring new vitality and speed to the attacking third, is a candidate to start on the left.

Up front, £74 million summer signing Benjamin Sesko is tipped to return to the starting XI to lead the line after being rested last time out.

Predicted lineup (3-4-3): Lammens; Maguire, de Ligt, Shaw; Dalot, Casemiro, Fernandes, Diallo; Mbeumo, Sesko, Cunha.
