Dibling Deal Done: Everton Add Firepower with Rising Winger

Everton have made Tyler Dibling the second most expensive signing in their history, bringing in the teenager from Southampton in a deal that could rise to £40m.

The Toffees will pay an initial £35m plus a further £5m in add-ons for the 19-year-old, making him David Moyes’ eighth summer arrival.

The England Under-21 international believes Moyes is the perfect manager to guide his development and is excited to learn alongside flair players such as Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye.

He said:
“I think the manager is ideal for me. He’s helped so many players before who were in my situation. I’ve spoken to him and I know he’ll be good for me.

“There are so many quality players here to learn from, like Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye. I’d say the standout part of my game is my dribbling—that’s what excites fans, and I hope I’ll get to show a lot of it.

“My goal this season is to play as many matches as I can, helping the team with goals and assists. As a group, hopefully we’ll have a strong season and see where that takes us.”

Moyes had been searching all summer for a right winger, with Southampton rejecting two earlier bids before finally agreeing to talks on Friday.

Dibling added:
“I feel I’ve come to Everton at the perfect time and hopefully I’ll be here for years to come. The Brighton win on Sunday gave me a great feel for the club—it was unbelievable. I also played in the last men’s game at Goodison. The noise was incredible. I was just looking around thinking, ‘This is quality.’ It was a brilliant insight into the fans and the atmosphere they create.”

Moyes has already signed Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Adam Aznou, Tom King and Grealish this summer, spending over £100m in total.

He added:
“Tyler strengthens our attacking options, and we’ll support him in his development. We want to build a team Evertonians will enjoy watching and be proud of, and Tyler can play a big role in that.”
