Kennet Eichhorn Drawing Attention from Barcelona and Top European Clubs
German teenager Kennet Eichhorn has become one of the most sought-after young players in Europe after breaking into Hertha BSC’s first team this season. The 16-year-old midfielder, who only signed his first professional contract last summer, is already attracting serious attention from some of the biggest clubs in world football — including FC Barcelona.
According to BILD (via Mundo Deportivo), scouts from Barcelona have been frequent visitors to the Olympiastadion in recent weeks to monitor Eichhorn’s rapid rise. The Catalan giants are not alone in their pursuit, however, with Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal also keeping close tabs on his progress.
Within Germany, domestic heavyweights Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, and Eintracht Frankfurt are similarly monitoring the teenager, who has already made nine senior appearances for Hertha in the 2. Bundesliga.
A historic rise at Hertha
Kennet Eichhorn made history earlier this season when he became the youngest debutant in 2. Bundesliga history, featuring in Hertha’s second league game of the campaign. His ability to dictate tempo and recover possession efficiently has drawn comparisons to other young pivots who emerged early in their careers — including Barcelona’s own Marc Bernal.
Hertha are aware that interest in their rising star is only growing, and reports suggest they would consider selling if an offer of at least €20 million is tabled.
Barcelona monitoring but patient
While Barcelona’s interest is genuine, the club are expected to take a cautious approach. With the La Masia pipeline already producing midfielders like Marc Bernal — now part of the senior setup — and Tommy Marques pushing for promotion, the Catalans are unlikely to rush into a move for Kennet Eichhorn just yet.
Still, the teenager’s performances have not gone unnoticed, and his profile fits perfectly with Barcelona’s long-term philosophy of developing technically gifted young midfielders. If Eichhorn continues his rapid development, it may only be a matter of time before he becomes one of the most sought-after signatures in European football.
