Kusi-Asare Joins Fulham on Loan in Official Bayern Announcement

Those reports at the close of the transfer window were true — Bayern Munich and Fulham did negotiate a loan deal for Jonah Kusi-Asare. Bayern Munich’s move was reported on Bayern Munich’s website:

FC Bayern have extended the contract of Jonah Kusi-Asare and loaned out the 18-year-old to English Premier League team Fulham until the end of season. He was part of Sweden U21 internationally at FC Bayern Campus in early 2024.

After he left his youth team AIK Solna, who he started his professional journey at age 16, the forward stood tall at 1.96 metres and was handed first practice in matches in the U19s and volunteered for practice in the first team because of eye-catching performances in the U23s. He made his first-team debut in April’s crushing 3-0 triumph against Mainz. He was once again a late substitution in the crushing 6-0 victory in a league match against RB Leipzig at the start of a new season in the Bundesliga. He has represented Sweden’s U21s thrice thus far.

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund feels that the move will be positive for Jonah Kusi-Asare.

“Jonah Kusi-Asare has developed very nicely with us since he came a year and a half ago and was able to make his professional debut ahead of his first full season in Munich. He has a lot of potential and will now gather some quality experience at the very highest level in Europe. We will be keeping a very close eye upon him and be sure he will take the next steps in his development and continue to reach maturity at Fulham,” said Freund.

Matchday 2 did come through — and somehow it doesn’t seem right that we’ll wait another two weeks to have Bundesliga action again.
