Marcus Rashford Sets Pre-Season Plan Amid Tense Amorim Relationship at Man United

Marcus Rashford expects to take full part in Manchester United’s preseason, despite having had no contact with manager Ruben Amorim. The 27-year-old is set to return for duty with the rest of the squad on Monday, following a spell at Aston Villa during the latter half of last season. After the loan, Marcus Rashford feels refreshed and has been spending the summer working out with a personal trainer close to Marbella.

The forward is committed to earning his place in the club, even though it is acknowledged that he has not spoken with Ruben Amorim throughout this time and that the manager would prefer any unwanted players to be traded before the preseason. This scenario is likely to force United into making a decision about Marcus Rashford future, which remains uncertain. The club is reportedly looking for £40m for the player, with Barcelona being the frontrunners in interest. However, they currently favor a loan deal, and Bayern Munich is also keeping an eye on developments. According to people close to Marcus Rashford, he has not received any information from the club about this matter.

United’s plan calls for two weeks of fitness training at Carrington before a friendly match against Leeds United in Stockholm and a standard Premier League summer series trip of the United States. Amorim’s team will also face West Ham United, Bournemouth, and Everton during this tour, before a home friendly against Fiorentina on 9 August.

The situation is further complicated by the realization that Marcus Rashford needs a strong preseason to attract potential buyers, akin to the situations of Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, all returning from loans at Chelsea, Real Betis, and PSV Eindhoven, respectively. This scenario highlights United’s ongoing challenges in offloading players, which is crucial for overhauling the squad and meeting PSR requirements.
