Semenyo Transfer Rumours: United and Liverpool Circle £65m Star

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been urged to make a move for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, who has rapidly established himself as one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Premier League this season.

Now, former England and Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips believes Guardiola should be the one to make the decisive move. Speaking to BestBettingSites, Wright-Phillips insisted that Semenyo has all the attributes to thrive in Guardiola’s system, especially with City rumoured to be considering triggering the £65 million release clause in his contract as early as January.

“I would say he’s one of the best wingers in the Premier League right now,” Wright-Phillips said. “You can’t ignore what Jeremy Doku has done at City this season, but Semenyo is right up there with him. He’s one of my favourite players to watch — he’s got that fearless attitude, and he plays with a smile on his face.”

Wright-Phillips went on to praise the 24-year-old’s versatility, noting how easily Antoine Semenyo can adapt to multiple attacking roles: “You can play him up front, on the left or the right — he uses both feet really well and always looks dangerous. He knows where the goal is, he’s confident, and he just looks like he’s enjoying his football. That hunger makes a huge difference.”

Although he admitted Antoine Semenyo would fit in well at several top sides, Wright-Phillips believes Manchester City could be the perfect destination. “His end product is excellent, and while I think he would suit Liverpool’s attacking style, the way Iraola sets up Bournemouth reminds me of Pep’s City — aggressive, high-pressing, and very fluid in attack. So you never know, he might just end up at City,” he added.

Wright-Phillips concluded by saying that Semenyo’s rise is a breath of fresh air for the league. “It’s great to see a player enjoying his game and earning recognition. He deserves every bit of it — and whichever top club gets him will be very lucky.”
